President underscores importance of proper upbringing to secure good human resources

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has yesterday visited the island of Maa-en’boodhoo of Dhaalu Atoll, as part of his current tour of the atoll.

Addressing the people of the island, the President said that the most important work to be done in securing good human resources was to give our children proper upbringing through the education system.

Highlighting the importance given by the leaders and the people of Maa-en’boodhoo to education, the President said that the exemplary unity and brotherhood that was among the people of the island was the result of the high regard given to education by the leaders of the island, and the special attention given in upbringing the children.

In his speech, the President highlighted the many areas where Maa-en’boodhoo was in need of development, and spoke on the government’s plans to achieve those goals.

The President’s next stop was Kudahuvadhoo of Dhaalu Atoll. The President also met the people of Kudahuvadhoo during his visit.
