MNDF Northern Area starts rendering assistance to a vessel in distress

MNDF Northern Area soldiers have started rendering assistance to “Aaru” vessel that was in distress 4 miles off Lh. Aligaa.

The vessel loaded with timber was reported in distress due to engine breakdown and water leakage at around 0230hrs last night while travelling at Kaashidhoo Ocean. Upon receiving the call, MNDF Northern Area soldiers have immediately attended the location in a Harbor Craft launch and started rendering assistance to the vessel.

It is stated that there were four people onboard the vessel at the time of the incident including 3 foreigners and one Maldivian. It is stated that they are in good condition
