MNDF Northern Area has commenced a program to reduce bats and crows at four islands of Shaviyani Atoll.
The first portion of the program was conducted at Sh.Maaungoodhoo and Sh.Narudhoo today. Tomorrow, this program would be conducted at Sh.Feydhoo and Sh.Kanditheemu.
This program is conducted upon request of the respective Island Councils due to the complains of residents about the excessive presence of bats and crows and concerns of farmers about damage caused by crows and bats to the farms.
MNDF appreciates the support and hospitality given by the respective Island Councils to the MNDF.
