MNDF assists a grounded ferry

MNDF Southern Area soldiers have provided assistance to a ferry registered to MVK, after it lodged onto a shallow sand bank while attempting to enter Addu City Hulhumeedhoo harbor.

Soldiers from MNDF Southern Area were put into action immediately after receiving news of the incident at around 1900hrs. Harbor Craft vessel from Southern Area Coast Guard Squadron transported soldiers to the scene and subsequently the distressed vessel was brought into Meedhoo harbor under their instructions. No injuries were reported due to this incident.
