State Minister Shameem participates in World Environment Day celebration at Hagnameedhoo

Minister of State for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ahmed Shameem participated in the World Environment Day 2012 Program held at Hagnameedhoo Island organized by Chaaya Reef Ellaidhoo resort.
Special Awareness Seminar on Environment Issues and Waste Management was given by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Male for the local community of Hangnaameedhoo Island.
To minimize the Sea Erosion banyan trees were planted in identified areas lead by the chief guest and the General Manager of the resort along with all well wishers, Islanders and the visiting Team. In addition to these events, a Huge Model of a Globe was placed at a prominent place to collect the feedback from the participants.
