FRS extinguishes a fire outbreak at M. Lodge house

MNDF Fire and Rescue Service has extinguished a fire outbreak at M.Lodge house. Upon receiving the call at around 19:07hrs, FRS firefighters attended the scene immediately.

On arrival their arrival to the scene, the firefighters identified that some of the residents had moved to the rooftop of the house and a female was also stuck within the house. FRS personnel immediately rescued the girl and evacuated her to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

Among the residents on the roof, a woman and child were immediately evacuated using a ladder and the remaining were evacuated using the stairs of the house after controlling the fire. It was reported that the fire was completely extinguished at around 20:00hrs.

Minister of Defence and National Security Mohamed Nazim attended the scene and witnessed the damages caused by this incident.

The Minister offered the owner any assistance that they might require from the government to recover the damage but the owner only requested assistance in maintaining security of the house till morning.
