CMAG stabbed us in the back by listing Maldives: President
Article Tools
President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said that the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) stabbed Maldives in the back by listing the country.
The President made this remark at the press conference held at the President’s Office to mark the first 100 days since his assumption of office as the President of Maldives. He said that the government does not accept that the Commonwealth has to list Maldives. He added that this has been informed to the Commonwealth.
President Dr. Waheed said that the CMAG listed Maldives under the influence of some people who have close ties to some top people of its some member countries.
The President said that the government decided to readjust the National Inquiry Commission not because the government accepts the conclusions of the CMAG.
“There is nothing that we have to hide. In fact we have nothing to hide. I decided to bring some adjustments to the commission to give opportunity for former President Nasheed because it was noted that he had no role in the commission. It is because we want to reach to a peaceful solution even by coming to terms with those whon are spreading corruption in this country,” he said.
The President said that some people are trying to bring the country under the influence of foreigners. He said that no sane person who loves the nation will ever try to threaten the sovereignty of the state by calling foreign parties to interfere with our internal affairs.

We are fascinated by Dr. Waheed’s reference to sovereignty.. He is a puppet of Maummoon, Buruma and Yaamin.
He is ruling Maldives against the constitution of the Republic. He cannot change the cabinets as he pleases until he gets officially elected .. So for him to feel that it is a democracy; is a confusion that he has in his head.
Mr. Waheehdeen is a close pal of Dr. Waheed, when ever his children come to Male’ they are provided with a personal butlers at Bandos. Since the special drinks that are ordered has to be hushed:-) So appointing Mr. Dean as the Vice is corruption from the grass roots, that is prevailed with honour by this government
devotedmaldivian, pls read the constitution of the Maldives before comming to conclusion as to whether Mr.Waheeds government is legit or not. Personally, I’m not saying it is. We will need a fully independent investigation for that to happen. According to the constitution the vise president is to take the POST OF PRESIDENT should the president resign for ANY REASON. When constitution says this and the Dr.Waheed was the vise president when president nasheed resigned, then as per the constitution, Dr.Waheed as the authority to take power. Dr.Waheed chose to take power and become president. And the president has the authority to change the cabinet. Whether he is a puppet or not does not undermine this legal issue. Regarding the relationship between Dr.Waheed and Mr.Waheehdeen, relationship between two individuals is solely between themselves; its neither your business or mine as long as its constitutional. For me I think we should start asking questions from the very root of the problem. Why was Justice Abdulla arrested and who is responsible? Why were MDP activists allowed near Jumhooree Maidhan when for more than 21 days other were not? Why did the Military side with police
As to your alegations about the so called “special drinks” that “has to be hushed” you must prove these in order for them to have any weight. One can be held responsible for ones actions in this world, and surely in the hereafter. In the end Allah knows what we hide in our chest better than us
