Opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) said that the international community is aware of the dictator and a despot who disregards the constitution and rule of law.
In the meeting held at the PPM’s Office to brief on the trip of the delegates of the party to disseminate the true reality of the situation of Maldives and to update the international community regarding the continues protests sparked by the military’s arbitrary arrest of the Chief Judge of the Criminal Court Abdullah Mohamed, Spokesperson of PPM Hussein Shareef (Mundhu) said that the current actions of the President Nasheed has led to the international community to accept that Nasheed is indeed a dictator.
Mundhu said that the government has been playing the blame game by meeting with foreign delegates and trying to put the blame on the opposition so as to cover up the actual issues raised against the government.
Mundhu said that the foreign ambassadors designated to Maldives have told the opposition that if a country stops respecting the constitution and rule of law then the government will receive any support from the west.
