Conrad Maldives Among Chicago Tribune’s Top 10

Maldives Promotion House – Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Resort has been included in Chicago Tribune’s list of 10 greatest places to propose.

According to the news paper, the two most remarkable features of Conrad are the underwater restaurant Ithaa, and their private yacht.  Ithaa is the world’s first all-glass under-sea restaurantand an icon in the country. Ithaa has welcomed thousands of diners, countless marriage proposals and an endless stream of the curious, wanting to see the magic of the underwater world.

Sitting five metres below the waves of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear acrylic, the restaurant has hosted over 43,800 diners, 151 under-sea “Renewal of Love” ceremonies and has been witness to the consumption of over 14,235 bottles of champagne since it opened.

The Chicago Tribune is a major daily newspaper based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and the flagship publication of the Tribune Company. Formerly self-styled as the “World’s Greatest Newspaper”, it remains the most read daily newspaper of the Chicago metropolitan area and the Great Lakes region and is currently the eighth largest newspaper in the United States by circulation and the second largest under Tribune’s ownership behind Los Angeles Times.
