Coast Guard salvage a dhoani

A dhoani named “dhuveli” travelling to male’ with large number of gas cylinder sank yesterday around 5:15pm. By referring to dhoani, coast guard said water started to seep in while they were on journey and they turned back to Thilafushi, it eventually sank when the dhoain was in Thilafushi lagoon.

It was salvaged by MNDF coast guard in coordination with the dhoani owner, last night around 11pm. The dhoani was salvaged by pumping out the water after lifting it above sea level using a crane.
