Maldives Association of Tourism Industries (MATI) has expressed concern that the government has decided to shut down all the Spas in the maldivian resorts.
A statement issued by MATI which was signed by its President Sim Ibrahim Mohamed said that it will not only harm the economy of the country but it will cause loss for the tourists that visit the Maldives after paying huge sums of money.
MATI said the tourism industry appeals to the government and opposition to find a peaceful solution for the issue considering the loss for the tourism business, tourism industry and to foreign businesses related to this business.
MATI also urged not put the main source of economy which is tourism in to the disputes between the government and opposition and to give high priority to the economy and peace of the country.
