Mauritius awards highest order to Pres.

President of Mauritius Sir Anerood Jugnauth has awarded the highest distinct order of merit in Mauritius, Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and the Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK), to President Mohamed Nasheed.
President Nasheed was conferred GCSK at the luncheon hosted by President Anerood in his honour yesterday.
Among the few foreign dignitaries who has been conferred the award are Former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela, and Former President of Guyana Cheddi Jagan.
As part of his visit to Mauritius, President Nasheed yesterday visited Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, and laid a wreath at the Memorial of Former Prime Minister of Mauritius, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, who is also considered by Mauritians as the Father of the Nation.
