Worship is not only limited to Ramadan- Sameer
Article Tools
Sheikh Ahmed Sameer has said that Ramadan is not the only month for worship.
In last night’s forum conducted by Ministry of Islamic Affairs to revive the nights of Ramadan held at Islamic Center, Sameer said that Allah provided His servants with this the blessed month of Ramadan as a mercy and the month of Ramadan is where we can train and develop ourselves and improve ourselves as Muslims for the rest of the year in order to gain the fear of Allah and get closer to him.
Sameer also said that it is a common mistake of the people to take the day of Eid as a day to return back to their old chores away from worship of Allah. He said that such people are denying the favour of Allah with the blessing of obedience and enjoyment of worship.
“Many of us exercise everyday just because a doctor asks us to do so. If we can do this then why is that we are not steadfast and firm in worshipping Allah daily?”
He stressed that the one who truly fasts rejoices on the occasion of Eid, praises his Lord for helping him complete the fast, and remains fearful that Allah may not accept his fasting.
“The Muslim must continuously be in the state of obedience of Allah, firm upon worship, so that he or she is not of those who worship Allah only during one month or only in one place. Rather, the believer knows that the Lord of Ramadan is also the Lord of other months, and that He is the Lord of all times and places, so he is steadfast upon the worship of Allah until he meets Him while He is pleased with him,” said Sameer.
Furthermore, Sameer appealed the public to work to “enlighten the whole of Maldives with the light of faith.”
