IGMH suffers big loss- MHSC

Male’ Health Services Corporation (MHSC) has said that Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) had suffered millions as loss due to negligence in the management of the stock.

Managing Director of MHSC and former CEO of IGMH, Mohamed Zubair said that IGMH suffered such a big loss due to lack of qualified employees and systematic stock management system.

After taking over the management of IGMH on April, the company has been trying to change the directives of the hospital prioritizing to improve service delivery of the hospital.

According to reports, the corporate management has lead to short coming in managing and controlling the hospital’s medical stock which is causing losses of millions of ruffiyah.

Zubair said that the company has now begun to find ways to rectify the issues raised which is affecting the hospitals health services to the public.

Furthermore, he said that they are discussing with UNDP on the means to establish a systematic stock management system.

IGMH which is a gift from the Government of India, represents one of the most significant aid so far from India to the Maldives.
