MDP decides to hold congress

The ruling party Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has on Friday decided to hold their congress at the end of October.

MDP National Council decided to hold its congress from October 28, 29 and 30.

MDP National Council’s 82nd session they also amended the article 31 and 33 of its governing policy which defines the eligible voters consisting the quorum.

In session MDP also determined that Secretariat Staff could not compete in their upcoming elections.

The party also decided that any amendments to the Party’s governing policy should be proposed within 14 days prior to the congress.

MDP national council session was chaired by MDP chairperson Maria Ahmed Didi. President Mohamed Nasheed also participated in the session.
