First Lady Laila Ali inaugurated the rebranding of Television Maldives (TVM) to “MNBC One” and Voice of Maldives (VOM) to “Raajje Radio.”
Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation (MNBC) informed that the rebranding was a milestone in its plans for improving the two state media channels. The company noted that this would increase the company’s efficiency, quality and profit.
MNBC also has decided to sell 40 percent of its shares to island councils and 20 percent to the public.
Last month the Cabinet recommended to the Board of Directors of MNBC to rebrand the company and sell its shares to the public.
Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation was established on 22 December 2008 under Article 95 of Law no: 10/96 (Maldives Corporate Act).
