Lack of space was the reason why journalists were barred from hearing – Criminal Court
Article Tools
A letter from Criminal Court to Maldives National Broadcasting Cooperation has said that a journalist belonging to TVM and Haveeru were not allowed into a hearing at the Court due to “lack of space” at the courthouse.
As there were two more people seeking to enter courthouse than its capacity, during the hearing on the MP Musthafa and MP Nazim’s corruption cases, Criminal Court decided that one journalist from Haveeru Daily and one journalist from TVM would not be allowed into the courthouse, as they had two journalists from Haveeru and TVM.
“We would also like to reconfirm that court officer did explain the journalists reason why they were not cleared to enter courthouse” said the letter.
