Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Moosa Maniku, MP for Hulhu Henveiru and leader of the MDP parliamentary group has said that DQP leader Dr. Hassan Saeed is having consultations with the governments because of his worries on cleaning Maldives of corruption.

Speaking at the 7th hearing of the MDP’s “Peoples Court” Moosa also said that it was a serious court. Moosa also said that the “deliberations” of the court could not be stopped and any effort to do so will be met by serious consequences as well.

Speaking at the hearing held at South East edge of Capital Male’, Moosa also said “previously parliament sessions were closed because Speaker cannot move forward. But today Speaker came to parliament with a statement which said that he cannot conduct the sessions because Abdulla Yaameen is not in the house. There are many days which I have been sick and did not attend the sessions. But the sessions goes forward”.

Moosa also criticized Speaker Abdulla Shahid, for concluding the session because MNDF has not presented Abdulla Yaameen to parliament.

In addition to Moosa, other MPs including Mohamed Nazim, MP for Madaveli also spoke at the hearing.

In response to MDP’s “Peoples Court” opposition DRP has also created “Peoples Supreme Court”.
