DQP calls for a no confidence vote of the President
Article Tools
Dhivehi Qaumee Party has called on the Parliament for a no confidence vote of the President.
“The responsibility of the each member should be to take a no confidence vote against the president. This party sees no alternative. It is a shame for the Maldives people to accept this leadership” it noted.
The statement from the party also noted the en masse resignation of the cabinet as a “joke”. It also said that ministers voluntarily have not resigned but was done as per the President Nasheed’s orders. The live coverage of the en masse resignation also shows that it was staged, according to DQP.
“Master draft of the resignation letter was prepared at the same table, and was drafted by President Nasheed himself” it noted.
DQP is lead by Dr. Hassan Saeed and Dr. Mohamed Jameel, who are also the lawyers of MP for Maamingili, Qasim Ibrahim, and has been criticizing the government heavily.

This is what exactly what the opposition has been working for the last couple of months. Nothing new and not something with regard to the present situation. These guys couldn’t digest the fact that they lost the last presidential election, and when they got a majority in the parliament is trying their best to put this country into chaos.
i support DQP’s suggestion….go for a no confidence before its too late…..
Definitely, the Maldivian parliament should take immediate action against this dirty games played by the president and his cabinet. It’s more than a joke and they shall be held acountable for doing this. They have breached obligatory responisbilities and shall not be given another chance to hold the chairs.
It’s an obligatory duty of the parliament to take immeidate action against this by taking a no confidence vote against the president, for the benifit the Maldivian nation, whom they represent.
Dr Hassan Saeed can you stop shouting and going through no confidence vote, since you plan 5 years time there must be a mid election… thats your plan, please think about nation and now it is time to think what the government saying and try to work things positive way…
Dont put forward your agenda n i am ashamed of a person you like to be president mid election person..
I consider these two to be Maldivian version of famous comic actors Laurel & Hardy. These two jokers should not be taken seriously by any one.
i think fair when all ministers resigned to call the last ditch of activist to leave the port folio. President failed to deliver his promises not because MPs but because of load of incompetent activist to run the government
