Abdulla Yaameen and Qasim Ibrahim being investigated

Maldives Police Service has confirmed that MP for Maamigili, Qasim Ibrahim and MP for Mulaku, Abdulla Yaameen are being investigated at Police custody.

Miadhu Daily also understands that both MPs are being investigated in connection to issues raised by the resigning cabinet ministers today. During a press conference held today President Nasheed has said that he takes issues raised by the cabinet ministers very seriously.

Speaking to Television Maldives, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed and Attorney-General, Husnu-al-Suoodh has said that there are reports that MPs had been using the seats for financial benefits.

Speaking at the press conference President Nasheed said that the allegations would be investigated by the MNDF and Police but confirmed that democratic governance would stay and ruled out a military regime.

President also noted that his ministers have been unable to discharge their duties because of the spirit prevailing in the parliament and that different minister has raised different issues and they all would be addressed.

    peoples are elected them if president is not there maldives should sink i mean maldives will die it not fair now a days what there doing is all they are paid from the gvnmt there not allowd to have there salary
