Vice President departs for Saudi Arabia

Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning departed for an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to the media before his departure, Vice President said that the purpose of his visit was to discuss the upcoming Donor Conference with Saudi officials.

He also said that he would work to strengthen bilateral ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia as well explore possibilities of seeking assistance to the development of Maldives.

During the visit, the Vice President is scheduled to meet with senior officials of Saudi government, Saudi Fund for Development, Riyadh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Islamic Development Bank.
