Government had kissed goodbye to coalition partners – Qasim

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Speaking in the parliament floor on the draft decentralization bill Leader of the Republic Party, Qasim Ibrahim has said that the ruling MDP had kissed goodbye to the very coalition parties which had assisted MDP in winning the presidential elections.

“We see that words are not being matched by actions. Breaking the promises, dishonoring the pledges and does not implement its agreements. MDP had kissed goodbye to the very coalition parties which had assisted MDP in winning the presidential elections and this is very sad” he said.

Qasim also said that those facts were well known in the public domain. He also said that the current government is also increasing its grip on the government and the country through undemocratic measures just like the previous constitution.

Qasim also supported sending the bill to a committee and said that the powers rendered to the people should increase.
