Floating islands will increase attention to prospective environment refugees – Scientist
Article Tools
Dr. Phillip Hillman, a UK scientist has said that creation of floating islands and golf courses will increase attention to the prospective environment refugees like Maldivians.
Speaking to UK media, he also said that President Nasheed’s decisions and steps regarding climate change are very forward looking. “We cannot mitigate climate change but we can still adapt to climate change if we work together” he said.
He also said that because of the lengthy dictatorship in the country and because of the delay in the democratic transition in the Maldives, Maldivian message on climate change had also delayed very much and had impeded its message to the international community. He also said that President Nasheed should receive all the cooperation in the world because of the above reasons.
