Bangladesh Highcomission celebrates 90th Birth Anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

In presence of a large number of Bangladeshi nationals, the 90th Birth Anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day was celebrated in the Bangladesh High Commission on the 17th March 2010 at the Chancery Building. Md. Ahiduzzaman Liton, Charge de’Affairs inaugurated the Children’s drawing and essay writing competition at 11:00 am at the Chancery.
Significant number of Bangladeshi and Maldivian children participated this competition. In the evening, a film Bangabandhu in our Heart was shown. This was followed by a discussion led by the Charge de’ Affairs on the life of Bangabandhu, the necessity led to the War of Liberation, the vision of Bangabandhu and his inspiration to build the Nation and how to build the leadership ability in Children for future Bangladesh. The distinguished community leaders took part on the discussion.
The discussion meeting also exchanged the views on the immense achievement of great leader the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’ Golden Bangla including the challenges of the 21st Century and Children’s role as future leader of Bangladesh.
Md. Ahiduzzaman Liton presented medals among the children for the participation in the Children’s drawing and essay writing competition. After this, there was a cultural event presented by Bangladeshi artistes living in Maldives
