ACC files two cases against Auditor-General at the PG Office

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Anti Corruption Commission had lodged two cases against Auditor-General Ibrahim Naeem with the Prosecutor-General’s Office.

ACC believes that Naeem had committed corruption by using his position.

First case states that Naeem had paid money from the office for a private visit to B. Thulhaadhoo, and later attempting to change the date of the receipt of the payment.

The second case says that Auditor-General had used an official credit card to purchase personal items.

The report comes at a time when an MP had submitted a bill which calls on disbanding the Anti-Corruption Commission if ineffective.

  1. ACC’s members are thugs supported by DRP. DRP-PA used their majority in Majlis to elect members to the commission based on their preferences.
DRP-PA members have embezzeled in millions of Rufiyaa from the government for personal use. They have become the richest of the people in the Maldives by using our money. Yet they are trying to say Auditor General is corrupt for fear that these corrupt people’s problems may go to court and end up losing their seats in the Majlis.
DRP hates anyone who fights corruption and goes after them. It is not surprising that these people use their DhoguTV(aka DhiTV) and DhoguFM(aka DhiFM)to spread propaganda and lies to make sure these thugs are seen by people as good ones.
