MDP’s internal democracy is very strong – Rahul Gandhi

All India Congress Committee’s Chairman Rahul Ghandhi, who is on a visit to Maldives on an official visit, has said that MDP’s internal democracy is very strong.

He also said that the success of Indian’s Congress Party and Maldives Democratic Party is the internal democracy within the party. Rahul also said that the both parties would collaborate more on mutual projects.

He also said that Congress is looking forward to realize democratic dream for all Indian nationals, including those living in the poor and distant corners in India. He also said that in the Congress party anyone who is with no criminal record and religious extremes could succeed in the party.

The meeting was also attended by President Nasheed as a member of the party council. In his address president said that MDP’s victory in 2008 was testimony of the role it played in enhancing democracy.

Speaking at the Meeting, President’s Special Envoy, Ibrahim Hussain Zaki said that the MDP officials are very happy for meeting with Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Ghandhi also thanked President Nasheed for inviting him to the Maldives.

Rahul Gandhi was received at the venue by the Special Envoy Zaki, Hulhuhenveiru MP Moosa Maniku and MDP SG Hassan Shah.
