Fahala Saeed sentenced to pay Ghassaan Maumoon MRF 5000 for defamation

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Civil Court has ruled that an article written by Fahala Saeed on the Sandhaan’s 29 June 2009 had defamed the character of Ghassaan Maumoon. Court also sentenced Fahala Saeed to pay Ghassaan Maumoon MRF 5000 (USD 390) as compensation within a month.

Case originally lodged by Ghassaan asked to collect MRF 3,000,000 (USD 233,463) but had removed the compensation part as he was finding it difficult to obtain evidences for the case.

  1. Now what has this Ghassan guy done to this country? He hasn’t done anything apart from running a hate website called the Maldivian. Now apparently, this Gayoom man wants this Ghassan guy to be the running mate of Thasmeen in 2013. Now this Gayoom man is sick to the core; he is trying to get the power back to his family.

  3. Ghassan is like his dad — another would-be dictator. The guy who cost us our economy. Till today we are paying a heavy price for what his dad did to him using our money.

Of course, Fahala Saeed does not have any document from British police to prove that Ghassan was under influence when he killed a British man and was bailed out with 1,000,000 pounds.

We will kep suffering while Maumoon and his family keep suing anyone who talks about these issues.
