There will be other options besides Yamin in the upcoming election of 2013. Yamin maybe educated in economics and may have experience in using our money for his own use and may be well-experienced in corruption and spreading corrupt practices like his half-brother Gayoom.

I, too have same level of education as Yamin, but I do not have the experience Yamin have in embazzling funds from Stelco, Ministry of Finance and Department of Higher Education (The Masdhalhu ministry). I do not have the corrupted and cunning background Yamin has. I do not have the ability to mislead public by playing with their emotions and making false statements all the time I speak. I do not have the funds oR will power to distribute illicit drugs to thugs and ask them to attack all the “opposition” (current administration)infrastructure and people who are allies of “opposition”, including cafes.I do not have a big mouth and a loud voice that roars like a hungry lion. I do not have the will to be blood-thirsty or power-hungry and mislead the uneduated based on lies and falsehood. I did not take part in the current failed policies towards tourism in Maldives. I did not try to dilute the upper-end toursim by proposing the government to lease 50 isalnds as resorts and take millions of dollars as advance and use them in year 2008 as all out war against then opposition.

Am I better than Yamin to run for presidency? I am sure, ALL of us are better than him. PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY YAMIN’s TALK.

If people like Yameen is the other option, I will any day prefer Anni.

At least Anni is proving he can develop the country more than anyone else.

Yameen is yet to prove he is the right candidate for president and yet to win the hearts of Maldivians. I think Gayoom and his clan should forget about Maldivian presidency. We have had enough from them!

Yamin is threatening Thasmeen in his bid to become the leader of DRP. It will be very interesting to see Thasmeen winning DRP’s leadership; in which case, DRP-PA coalition will cease to exist.
On the other hand, it is a grim reminder to DRP members that PA leader has a stake in DRP, though he is not part of DRP. Yamin may want his half brother to continue his legacy and win a seventh term as the longest serving president of South East Asia (or in fact the world), if we count all the years of Maumoon’s presidency — including the next two terms.

It seems, though, the youth of DRP will not be taking Maumoon’s side. However, DRP has more older people than youth. Yet, youth maybe representing more in congress than their older counterparts. It will be intersting to see the result of the congress.

Whatever the outcome may be, it will break-up DRP into small but strong factions, some of them may even defect to MDP and other parties– especially the youth parliamentarians.
