Changes in the Organizational Structure of Maldives Police Services

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Changes have been brought about to the Organizational Structure of Maldives Police Services to strengthen the services the Police provide to the Maldivian public. In such, the police service has been divided into 3 Commands. These 3 Commands are Criminal Management Command, Operation Command and Resource Management Command. Further, the name of the Ethical Standards Command has been replaced with Professional Standards.

In a function held yesterday at Police Headquarters, the changes to the organizational structure were announced and officers in charge of the divisions under this new structure were appointed. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Faseeh met with all the newly appointed officers and talked about providing the Maldivian public sincere and truthful services. He also advocated these officers to not willfully mistreat or harm any individual, be it a criminal or not, and to refrain from any such situations. He advised to lawfully abide by the Maldivian Constitution, and to treat all citizens equally and justly in order to make the police service a more accepting and pronounced service for the public.
