55 residential plots to be sold from Hulhumale

Housing Development Cooperation had announced the selling of 55 residential plots from the Hulhumale’ beachside. The plots vary from 1000 square feet and 1500 square feet and the starting price is MRF 600 per square feet. The winner of the bid is expected to pay 20% of the total price of the plot within 7 days.
All Maldivians above the age of 18 and those who does not have a residential plot larger than 600 square feet can purchase a plot. Those who had purchased a row house or a flat from a public housing scheme could also purchase a plot, but will have to agree beforehand that they will vacate the row house or flat once they receive the plot.
According to the HDC, bid to purchase those 55 plots would be open from 31 January 2010 onwards.
