President returns to Maldives

President Mohamed Nasheed has yesterday afternoon returned to Malé after attending the Commonwealth Heads Government Meeting (CHOGM).
This year’s CHOGM was held in Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad and Tobago from 27 to 29 November.
Speaking at the special session on climate change, the President called for concrete action from the Commonwealth to produce an important result in Copenhagen.
While in Trinidad and Tobago, President Nasheed attended the official dinner hosted by Queen Elizabeth II in the honor of leaders attending CHOGM 2009.
He also thanked Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of Australia and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India for their support and assistance to the Maldives to realize its plan to become carbon neutral.
