Parliament observes a minute of silence in Ismail Naseer’s memory

AT the Wednesday night sitting of the Parliament, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the deceased veteran MP for 20 years, Late Ismail Naseer.
Immediately after the commencement of the meeting, Abdulla Shahid, speaker of the Parliament announced the news of Ismail Naseer’s passing away and said that he had begun his parliamentary service on 23 February 1980 and said that he had served the Parliament for a long time.
A minute of silence was then observed by the MPs for Late Ismail Naseer. Ismail Naseer died after a prolonged illness at an age of 77 on Tuesday night. Ibrahim Ismail, former MP for Male, who had also been critical in bringing democracy to the country, is a son of Ismail Naseer.
