5 arrested with illegal drugs in Addu

Five people have been arrested in S. Hithadhoo with a large amount of illegal drugs. These five people were caught during 2 consecutive operations undertaken by the S. Hithadhoo Police Station due to information they received on the use and sale of illegal drugs in Hithadhoo.
Hassan Ibrahim Didi (18), Zura/S. Hithadhoo, Ibrahim Ashvadhu (22), Asramanzil/ S. Hithadhoo and a 17 year old was brought into police custody at 4.45 in the morning, at Hithadhoo Maniku Dhandu area. 77 rubber packets of alleged illegal drugs and Maldivian Rufiyaa 2210/- was retrieved from the area. The other two, Ali Shiraj (22) and Hassan Shaaz(20) of Nanreethige/S. Hithadhoo were caught yesterday at 4.45 in the evening with 53 packets of alleged illegal drugs.
The Drug Enforcement Department of Maldives Police Services and S. Hithadhoo Police Station are further investigating these cases.
