Under aged concubine finally found
Article Tools
The infamous case of under aged concubine has been finally found according of sources to Miadhu Daily.
The 17 year old girl was taken into police custody on Wednesday evening and it has been revealed through this source that she was pregnant.
So far Maldives Police Service (MPS) has not revealed any information about this case. MPS media officials said that hey do not want to make any comments on this case to media as of yet.
According to sources the girl got married in India and this marriage has not been registered in Maldives as of yet. This girl is the younger sister of one of the men arrested and convicted in the Alif Alif Himandhoo religious uprising of 2007.
The news of girl concubine was first brought to a wider public attention by Azima Shukoor, former Attorney General who is now a member of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party. She read it from a Maldivian blogger and a free lance journalist Hilath Rasheed.
Upon hearing this news, Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) had taken this issue very seriously. In their preliminary investigations, HRCM found that the girl was taken to from Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) by a woman whose face was covered by donning a full black veil and that this woman told the doctor in attendance that the girl was her husband’s concubine. HRCM had said that from her medical reports it was evident that she was pregnant.
During their investigation process, HRCM was criticized by some officials of IGMH as well by senior officials of Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Islamic Ministry has at one point even said that the story of girl concubine was a mere rumor and based on heresy.

Salam Alakium,
Your story like that in most of the media is completely misleading. What concubine I must ask? This woman was married and was not a sex slave as the secularists have tried to portray. In Islam there is no problem with women at 17 years of age being married. Its sad that people are using this issue to attack Islam while pretending to attack “extremism”. Remember the Prophet (SAW) married Aisha when she was 6 and consummated his marriage to her when she was 9. If they had been living today no doubt the apostate government here would have arrested him and taken her into “protective custody”.
Its sad that not one media outlet including this one has not attempted to get the facts of the case but rather has preferred to rely on sensationalism, something which is bringing the media closer to the western tabloids every day.
