President Nasheed meets visiting youth cadets

President Mohamed Nasheed has yesterday met with the visiting cadets under the Youth Exchange Programme 2009. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
Cadets from Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka are currently visiting the Maldives as part of the Youth Exchange Programme 2009.
Speaking at the meeting, the President said he hoped that the Youth Exchange Programmes provide the cadets an opportunity to interact with cadets from other countries. He further said that the programme was also an opportunity for them to know about the history and culture of other countries so as to broaden their horizon and outlook.
The cadets expressed pleasure in having had the opportunity to meet the President. They said that their visit to the Maldives has been a very good experience for them.
Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed was also present at the meeting.
