Imams of Masjidhul Haram, Aqsa and Madena to visit Maldives

EID-thahunuyaa-EnglishMinistry of Islamic Affairs has invited Imams from Masjidhul Haram of Mecca and also Masjidhu Nabavee in Medina and also Imam of Masjidhul Aqsa in Palestine.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily, State Minister of Islamic Affairs Mohamed Sheikh Shaheem Ali Saeed said that that these three Imams were invited in a letter sent to them on 22 November this year.

Sheikh Shameem said that invitations were sent out to Sheikh Abdur Rehman Al-Sudais, the Imam of Masjidhul Haram, Sheikh Dr. Salah Ibn Muhammad Al Budair, and Imam from Masjidhul Nabavee and Imam of Masjidhul Aqsa Dr Ekrima Sa’id Sabri. Masjidhul Aqsa.

Masjidhul Haram is the mosque that surrounds Kaaba, the Holy House of Allah considered the Holiest mosque in the world. This mosque is located in Mecca. The Masjidhul Nabavee is also called as the Prophet Mohamed’s mosque is the second holiest mosque in the world located in Medina and Masjidhul Aqsa is considered as the third holiest mosque in the world and this mosque is situated in Jerusalem.

State Minister Sheikh Shameem said that already the invitation has been accepted by Dr Ekrima Sa’id Sabri, the Imam of Masjidhul Aqsa and that he will be visiting Maldives at the beginning of next year.

Sheikh Shameem said that since it is going to be 900 years since Maldives embraced Islam and has remained as a 100% Muslim country, Imam’s from such Holy mosques visiting the country would certainly make the public very happy.

The ministry intends to inform the public in advance, as soon as they know the date of these Imams arrival in Maldives, so that people in the islands can also come to the capital to meet them.
