Action against washing land vehicles on road

Male Municipality has said that they will take action against people who wash land vehicles on the road in Male’. The Municipality said this at a time when this has increased in the roads and streets of the capital city.

In a statement issued by the Male Municipality, it said that since more and more vehicles are washed on the road, this was creating problems for pedestrians and also to other vehicles. It also said that as black colored oil is washed on to the road, it also affects the cleanliness of the road.

The washing is normally done in the area between Dharubaaruge and Children’s Play Ground, Carnival area and near public water area in Amenee Magu by expatriate laborers. According to the press release by Male Municipality even before people with vehicles goes to this area, these laborers run after the owners of the vehicles and begs whether they can clean the vehicles.
