4 Maldives students to attend Copenhagen summit activities

Four Maldivian students will be participating in events held at climate summit scheduled to be held in Copenhagen during December of this year.
These students from 4 different schools of Maldives will be participating in one of the activities of the summit called Children’s Climate Forum and one of these students will attend the main Copenhagen summit for one week.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Humaid Abdual Ghafoor, the communications officer of UNICEF, said that preparations are underway to send these students to the Children’s Climate Forum, which will begin one week ahead of the Copenhagen summit. In this regard, students who were arriving from outside Male’, have already been brought to the capital city.
These students who will be going to Copenhagen include Mohamed Aksam Maumoon of Majeedhiyya School, Mohamed Ansari of Dharumavantha School, Aminath Riuman Vaasif from Gnaviyani Fuvahmulaku Education Center and Aishath Shifana from Baa Atoll Education Center. The student who will be attending the first week of climate summit is Mohamed Ansari.
These students will depart from Maldives on 26 November and all the expense of the trip for these students will be covered jointly by Maldives office of UNICEF, Copenhagen city council and national committee in Denmark.
