He said to further build the military to face such situation; MNDF was carrying out a lot of work, such as joint training programs were held between India and Maldives military to expose Maldives military to face dangerous situations. In addition to this, joint training programs were under way even now between USA and Maldives military in Laamu Kadhoo.
Speaking at the press conference, Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor noted the recent piracy attack on a Chinese cargo boat in the Indian Ocean. He said that it was crucial that aerial surveillance should be established very soon to maintain security in Maldives territories. He also pointed out that the recently seized illegal Iranian fishing boats were captured because of aerial surveillance.
