Online registration for job seekers to be set up this week

Ministry of Human Resources Youth and Sports has revealed that the ministry would open an online register this week enable those seeking employment to register easily.
Speaking at a news conference held at Fansavees Maalaum on Thursday, Director General at the ministry Marium Nooruddeen said on this year’s Youth Day a special register for those seeking employment was opened and once online registering is opened those seeking employment would find more easier to register. She further said the software would allow employers to register and post their particular requirements.
“On Youth Day a special register opened for those seeking employment, we are now opening an easier and convenient method of registering through this software , online registration is not only for those seeking employment but also for employers wishing to provide jobs, they also can register, both parties can make use of this” said Marium Nooruddeen.
According to Maium Nooruddeen, through the software those seeking employment can upload their CVs and other particulars. She said special forms are available to apply for jobs from islands not having access to internet.
In addition, Human Resources, Youth and Sports ministry recently opened 80 opportunities of loan assistance to Maldivian students who are experiencing financial difficulties to complete their higher studies and training programs. Ministry said loan assistance are being provided to under the National Fund set up by the government to provide financial assistance to students to seek higher education and specialized technical training.
According to the ministry, loans are being provided to Maldivian students undergoing higher education and training in Maldives as well as in foreign countries, attending certificate level to Masters Degree level courses and has completed two thirds of the courses but requires financial assistance to complete their studies.
Ministry also said loans under the National Fund will be only be provided to Maldivian students who have taken up courses and training programs included in the Government Priority List and Skills Shortage List from universities and training institutions approved by Maldives Accreditation Board.
Students wishing to apply for loans may do so from 31 August till 23 September. Ministry also informed students applying for loan opportunities will be screened and only students obtaining top scores and meeting the required qualifications will be given loans.
