President Office holds a retreat for senior government officials

The President’s Office has held a retreat for political appointees and Permanent Secretaries with the objective of enhancing coordination and synchronization between the policy makers and civil servants who are at the forefront of implementing the policies. Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, Deputy Ministers, political appointees and Permanent Secretaries at the Ministries participated in today’s retreat. Members of the Civil Service Commission also participated in the retreat.
Delivering his opening remarks, Minister of Economic Development Mr Mohamed Rasheed noted the importance of both political appointees and civil servants working in same direction towards the development and progress of the people as both are accountable to the people of this country.
Special Envoy of the President Mr Ibrahim Hussain Zaki delivered the closing remarks. In his remarks, Mr Zaki stressed the need for a change in our mindset to complement the political changes that have taken place in the country. He also said that, this retreat is a beginning of process and more of such events would be conducted in the future.
