India Club to organize health camp

Preparations were being made to host a free health camp on the 27th of this month, according to India Club, a group formed by Indians working in the Maldives.

The camp will be inaugurated by President Mohamed Nasheed and will start at 9am and continue until 5pm this Friday. It will be open to the general public.

The camp will run free of charge on a first come first served basis and pharmaceuticals will be dispensed until stocks run out.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily about the camp, N. Swami, secretary general of the club and first secretary of the Indian high commission said doctors of various nationalities, working in health institutions across the country will participate in the camp.

Similar camps are expected to be held in the future.

The camp will also conduct a blood-donation program with the Thalassaemia Centre. Persons who would like to donate blood could get registered at the camp.
