54 drug packets found in light pole

A number of drug packets has been found inside the proximity of a mosque in Male’. The packets highly suspected to contain drugs were found at around 11:15 hours yesterday morning after a tip-off received to the Maldives Police Service. The amount of packets discovered totals 54 rubber packets.
The packets were found concealed inside a pole set up to fix lights within the mosque area. The items have now been taken into police supervision.
Maldives Police Service is yet to arrest anyone in relation to the drug bust. According to Maldives Police Service, Galolhu Police Station is jointly investigating the case along with Drug Enforcement Unit of the Service.
