23 year boy dies from stab attack

A 23 year old boy has died on Monday soon after he has received fatal stab attacks from an unknown gang. Samir Abdul Mueen from Mulakatholu Kolhufushi Shaahi Manzil was attacked at about 5.30 on Monday by the group near Kelam shop on Henveyru Janavanry Road on Monday evening. The young boy received several fatal injuries on his body. The attackers fled from the scene while Samir was later taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in a pick up by some people who came to the scene.
According to eye witnesses Samir ran to escape after the attack bleeding profusely from several wounds. His head and intestine were seriously injured. Intensive care was given to him from the hospital and all efforts made to save his life, however Samir died in the hospital at about 6.30 in the evening. According to reliable information the news of Samir’s attack and his admission to the hospital was first relayed to Samir’s brother by a friend of both Samir and his brother who happened to be in the hospital when Samir was brought there. Samir’s father Abdul Mueen was informed about his son’s death while he was watching Eid games
organised by Wataniya. He then rushed to the hospital to find the dead body of his son. Samir’s body was subsequently handed to the family and buried at 11.30 in the night.
Police have immediately started a search for suspected attackers. Male’ has experienced similar incidents in the recent months and few young boys have fallen victims to violent attacks. Although police have strengthened vigil on the streets, these incidents have continued resulting in deaths of young people.
