President Gayoom meets Indian & Bangladeshi High Commissioners

President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has met with the Indian High Commissioner A.K. Pandey and the High Commissioner-designate of Bangladesh to the Maldives, Professior Selina Mohsin. The meetings took place separately at the president’s office on Wednesday.
President Gayoom speaking at the meeting with Indian High Commissioner expressed that the bilateral relations between the Maldives and India have strengthened during the past 30 years and that India had been a tremendous source of support to the Maldives especially in times of need.
High Commissioner Pandey said that President Gayoom had given great importance to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the Maldives and India. He also noted the successful undertaking of President Gayoom to bring a modern liberal democracy to the Maldives.
During the meeting with the High Commissioner-designate of Bangladesh to Maldives President Gayoom, highlighted the strong bilateral relations that exists between the Maldives and Bangladesh.
Professor, Selina Mohsin congratulated President Gayoom for the successful developmental the country had achieved during President Gayoom’s presidency.
President Gayoom was joined at the meeting by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Ahmed Shareef and the Deputy Minister at the President’s Office, Dr. Hala Hameed.
