President Elect Nasheed forms cabinet

The cabinet of President elect Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) has been agreed upon by the members forming the MDP Alliance, according to reliable sources.
According to confidential information, the Home Minister’s portfolio in Mohamed Nasheed’s government will be assumed by leader of Jumhoory Party Qasim Ibrahim. The position of Tourism Minister is to be filled by Qasim’s running mate Ahmed Ali Sawaadh. Attorney General is Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed. Education Minister is to be filled by Dr. Mustafa Latfy while Trade Minister Portfolio is to be assumed by Saragu Adam Manik.
Housing and Infra Structure is to be assumed by Mohamed Aslam and Finance Ministry is to be assumed by Ali Hasim. Foreign Minister portfolio is to be assumed by Dr. Ahmed Shaheed while Justice and Legal Reform are to be assumed by Dr. Mohamed Jameel. Human Resource and Youth Development goes to Hassan Latheef of Social Liberal Party.
The Defense Minister of the government to be instituted on 11 November goes to Ameen Faisal and Health Minister goes to Dr. Aiminath Jameel.
A ministry named ministry of Islamic Affairs and is to be led by Dr. Abdul Majeed Baari of Adalat Party.
Under the revised constitution ratified on 7 August this yea, the members of the cabinet needs to be endorsed by the Parliament. According to information received President will announce his cabinet tomorrow.
