Gayoom says transition work making good progress

President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has expressed that the work to hand over powers of the government to the new government to be formed on 11 November was going very well. President Gayoom made this statement at the Cabinet meeting held at the President’s Office, yesterday.
President Gayoom also said that he was pleased with the way the work of the Transition Committee was going and that he had received full cooperation from the President Elect Nasheed.
At yesterday’s cabinet meeting, members deliberated on the work that needed to be done before the government changes.
The members of the cabinet also expressed pleasure at the way the transition work was undergoing and noted the importance President Gayoom gives for a smooth transition.
