3 injured in street violence

Maldives Police has revealed that 3 persons has been stabbed and seriously injured in two separate incidents of violence that occurred on Monday night in Male’.
Maldives Police Services revealed that the first incident occurred near Social Center at around 0145 hours. Ibrahim Hussain age 19 of Bihdhoshuge / Ga Kaduhulhudhoo and Hussain Riza age 19 years of Medhureege / Hdh Vaikaradhoo was injured in the fight.
In the fight, Hussain Riza was stabbed three times and sustained cuts one inch in depth and Ibrahim Hussain suffered cuts across his forehead, Police said.
Police also informed Hussain Riza is being treated at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The second incident occurred near Bangladesh High Commission at around 0248 hours. Ahusan Basheer of Varudhee of S Hithadhoo was attacked with a knife and suffered three deep slashes with a knife across his back and arms.
Police informed that Basheer was given treatment in Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital but is now under Police custody as it is believed that Basheer was involved in the attack on the two men near the Social Centre earlier that night. Police also informed that the person who had attacked Basheer was a minor and that he was also now in Police custody.
Police revealed that incidents are being investigated by Serious Organized Crime Unit of Criminal Investigation Department.
