MDP to establish University Hospital

An MDP government will establish a University Hospital in order to provide quality health care to the citizens, Presidential Candidate of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) has said.

At a news conference held at MDP Haruge yesterday Anni briefed the details of his last presidential campaign promise, that of establishing a University Hospital. Anni revealed that discussion on the subject has already been held with friendly countries and international organization. Dr. Aiminath Jameel, Shadow Cabinet member said the university hospital will be established in an island other than Male’.

Lack of proper sewerage and drinking water are major issued faced with people, Anni said. He said he will establish proper systems to produce clean drinking water facilities and storage facilities, establish nationwide sewerage systems.

When asked whether the forthcoming presidential elections can be held before the October 10 th deadline, Anni replied if the elections are not before the stipulated deadline, then he and his party will consider steps to be taken and his party will not rest until all necessary steps are taken to protect the rights of the people.
