Wataniya launches wChat

Wataniya has launched an innovative friend finding and chatting service over sms known as wChat.
Wataniya informs that the new service, wChat, is extremely user-friendly making it easy for everyone to start using the new chatting service. Customers can simply join by sending GO via sms to 4141 following which they will receive a message requesting to complete a simple registration sms , Wataniya said.
According to Wataniya customers can chat on a one-to-one basis or one-to-many in 6 different ‘chat rooms’. Registered wChat users can chat with anyone else in the chatting community at anytime, using their handset. Chat rooms cover a variety of different subjects from friends, jokes, and sport to movies, allowing customers to express their views or share thoughts on common areas of interest.
With the wChat service Wataniya customers can search for and make new friends, choosing whether to chat privately or join in a conversation with a group of other mobile users. A simple SMS of F send to 4141 will give a return SMS showing the wChat customer all his or her online contacts.
Once logged on to wChat customers can even access Yahoo, MSN and ICQ, making this a convenient way to converse worldwide with online instant messaging without needing a laptop, PC and an internet connection.
Wataniya’s Manager, Products & Services, Sofwathullah Mohamed said, “This is just the beginning of a community circle of chatting that we are calling “H! Community”. Through this circle customers will get the opportunity to share and chat with other mobile users in the Maldives and even other countries through MSN, Yahoo and ICQ. In short there’s no need for the internet to chat with this service and you can find new friends everyday”
